Tasteful Ways to Add Color to Your Home
…a closer look at the paint scheme from Magnolia Manor.
Creating a color scheme for your luxury project or custom home renovation is an important step in the design process. One of the advantages of working with a design-build firm like PRD is that our team of designers will help you create color schemes that are essentially you.
During our initial discovery process, our team will present you with mood boards to help inspire you and define your vision. Then we will use this information to help create paint schemes like the one we created for a recent project: Magnolia Manor. We hope that you will use these examples to discover tasteful ways to add color to your home!
Sitting Room: Smoky Green, by Benjamin Moore
We had fun finding a balance between these clients’ bright artwork, traditional furniture pieces, and whimsical fabrics. We cladded the walls in trimmed panels, and then drenched the room in this minty gray-green.
Dining Room – Misty Memories, by Benjamin Moore
Used this light gray-lavender to bring out the soft lilac hues in Cole & Son Cow Parsley wallpaper, featured in White & Heath Grey in the dining room.
Butler’s Pantry – Saturday on Sunday, by Backdrop
This dark blue-green tone was the perfect addition to the moody scheme we designed for the butler’s pantry, accenting the marble backsplash and buffed plaster ceilings.
Primary Bedroom – Road to Todos Santos, by Backdrop
A perfectly muted sage green to coat the ceilings of the primary suite, providing a relaxing and organic aesthetic. It also introduced guests to the slightly bolder green and white scheme found in the primary bathroom.
Trim – Swiss Coffee, by Benjamin Moore
Wherever a simpler background was needed throughout the home to allow other design details to stand out, this essential white had just the right amount of warmth to accent the white walls, coated in Chantilly Lace, one of our favorite interior white paint colors.
As you can see, the PRD team had a blast matching this family’s exuberant lifestyle! This project is a perfect example why we love getting to know our clients. If you are thinking about beginning a custom home renovation in the greater Charleston area, Get in Touch.
