PRD Custom Homes & Interiors recently completed a complete renovation and interior furnishings plan on Kiawah Island. Kiawah Island is an expansive beach and golf resort located just 20 miles from Charleston, SC. Known for its pristine beauty and luxury amenities, Kiawah features many different varieties of homes and villas.

Many of our lowcountry customers purchase vacation rentals to renovate. We have multiple strong relationships with Realtors on Kiawah Island and in other Charleston communities that allow us to step in and begin a project shortly after buyers close on their new homes. Designing a Vacation Home Vibe

When you hire us for your vacation home renovation, you get to lean on a design-build team who understands how to finish your home-away-from-home with a custom vacation vibe. We complete projects throughout the greater Charleston area, and we know how to complete a vacation home with the personal touch of a low country lifestyle.

Paint Colors Matter

This remodel called for blue trim and white walls to elicit a clean, coastal feel. The walls and ceilings are painted with “Chantilly Lace,” by Sherwin Williams; and the trim is coated with Sherwin Williams’ “Billowy Breeze.”

Notice the warm gray and natural wood cabinetry to complement the surrounding marsh and ocean environment.

To incorporate balance into the villa, we contrasted stark black fixtures and door hardware with traditional polished nickel cabinet pulls & light fixtures.

Outdoor Lounge for Added Living Space

It is a good idea to create as much living space as you can in vacation rentals so you can accommodate a wider range of rental parties. To solve a need for additional living space in this Green Dolphin Villa, we added an outdoor lounge area.

Bathroom Tile

To add visual interest to this villa’s bathrooms, we added a vertical tile border to traditional subway tile in the showers.

Texture, Texture, Texture

One of the most distinguishable features of Kiawah Island is how the structures and resort amenities blend naturally into the expansive wilderness areas in the island community. Playing along with this theme, we designed a mix of natural materials and upholstery textures throughout the villa.
